I was soooo disappointed with this book. All the hype, the excellent reviews... oh, but what a let down.

You will not be able to "sell your products or service in 3 seconds or less" as a result of this material... you will have a glorified USP, a method of marketing your product or service (mind you, it will not be any more powerful than techniques any other book can suggest, such as creating referals) and you will not feel you have value for money.

It is basic, it is weak and covers no new ground at all. I can only assume the score of high reviews stem from his own clients building the book up.

Very disappointing.

This book is a fast read and much of it may seem obvious. The best ideas often are obvious but that doesn't mean that we are applying them properly or that we are thinking about them in the right way... here's a simple example...

In Chapter 6, Mark Joyner lays out the three critical elements of an Irresistible Offer:

1) a High ROI Offer
2) a Touchstone (clarified offer)
3) Believability

He then walks through these steps with examples from real life like Domino's Pizza, and shows us how to use them in our own businesses and proposals.

Take Mark's simple timeless instructions and apply them to every offer that you are extending to your markets and customers, and I predict it will have tremendous effect on your results.

I cringed as I read the book. Joyner is trying to re-package 15-year old material on writing sales letters as something new. If you've never read a book on writing sales letters there's something here for you. If you have, there's nothing but a lot of hype.

If you've been around online marketing, you've probably read all this stuff before. For the newbie, it has a lot of information, but you can probably find it elsewhere for free, if you have a few hours to search around the net. If you have a mailing list, this tells you things you can do with it, but you probably know them already. If you don't have a list or contacts (joint venture partners) with a list, it can be frustrating to hear what you can do with one. my two cents.. I would save your money by skipping this one.

In this book, Joyner does a great job of getting the reader to focus on the offer of whatever product or service they are trying to market and sell. Call it your Value Proposition, Dominant Selling Idea or whatever else you'd like, if you cannot communicate it in about three seconds via your actual offer then you missed your golden window of opportunity to influence a person to buy.

If your offer is not irresistible then most people are going to tune out. By irresistible we are not talking about tricking anyone into making a purchase, we're talking about making a solemn promise that is compelling, believable and offers value to the other person such that it also puts them at ease and makes them feel safe about making the decision.

If you want to persuade people to buy from you then read this book to help guide you as you create your offer. It is easy, enjoyable reading and is well worth the investment.
