Many of the reviews for VPN have called it sketch comedy or compared it to Mad TV. I would have to disagree. It is indeed sketches, but only a handful of them are humorous. There are action skits, animated shorts, musical numbers, and even a Lost Highway Lynch parody. It reminds me a great deal of Night Flight from back in the 80s. Very entertaining yet very random. It is really all over the place.

I had seen several clips on YouTube from various episodes of VPN so I was expecting this to be a lot better than it was. I'm not a big fan of Zombie Family, and there are too many Zombie Family scenes for me.

VPN is, in a word, awesome. The very definition of it. Most if not all of this series is strangely arousing, sometimes comedy and sometimes art for the sake of it. Once you get past the weird, deadpan sense of humor, and exactly how hot these women are, you see how talented they are as well. The timing and delivery of lines in Zombie Family or Midnight Cooking and even how they move in Cathy's House - I just watched it all in awe. I know I haven't actually explained the show so far, but that's because it's nigh impossible to do so! Think Mad TV if Bjork directed every episode; equal parts NYC performance art and sketch comedy.

At first you will think this is the corniest thing ever put on a DVD but just give it a few minutes and yu'll be laughing your [...] off. If you can watch with a friend you'll enjoy your self twice as much. Japanese comedy at its sexiest.
